Cha-CHANGE is finally here!

Willow Run, MI  -- It's official, at least in our book anyway, that Joi Jenson and Willow Run alumni, Anglesia Brown have won two seats on the Willow Run Board of Education.  Time has run out for incumbents Andy Blakita and board president, Claudette Braxton.  This victory has been a long time in the making.  No one really knows when this journey of change began, but the one sure thing is that it is here today.  Residents of Willow Run finally told long standing board members that "enough is enough".

Joi Jenson is the parent who the superintendent disrespected by purposely leaving the board table while Jenson addressed the board.  Perhaps it was a bit difficult for her to listen to the harsh reality that she helped to create and perpetuate here in Willow Run.  Now it catches up to her and will probably be even more regrettable on the supt's behalf since she must now work side-by-side with an advocating parent who will not allow the superintendent to bully employees or disrespect citizens.

Anglesia Brown is yet another fresh perspective that is sorely needed on the board.  She is a feisty parent that believes in quality education and in Willow Run.  Afterall, she is a Flyer!  Brown is eager to get an alumni association started to help connect graduates back to the school district.  She envisions an effort whereby an annual alumni event will support a scholarship drive for graduating seniors.

We are ever hopeful that bringing positive people to the board will translate into positive relations in the district, now.  It is also notable to mention that it may not be an overnight venture either.  Nonetheless, CHANGE is here and things will begin to look up in Willow Run again.  Let the housecleaning begin!

Leave my Judas alone

Ypsilanti, MI -- "Gems of Runs House" wrote: I heard someone say a change is coming. I feel in my heart they are talking about positive things getting ready to come our way in Willow Run.  It pains me to read the harsh things on this site, but I understand how passionate people are when it comes to the bad things that the superintendent and board of education have allowed to happen within the district. I want to tell you all that in order to get to the "promised place" you have to tell others to "LEAVE MY JUDAS ALONE".

--> For those who do not know, Judas was a traitor, a liar and deceiver <--

Translation: Leave Dr. Doris Hope Jackson; Claudette Braxton; Cliff Smith; Laconda Hicks; Andreas Blakita; Larry Gray; and anyone else in the doghouse, alone.  Why? Because they have a purpose here.  Doris Hope-Jackson did not come to Willow Run by mistake.  Her steps were ordered here.  She didn't put Laconda Hicks and Larry Gray here by chance.  It was supposed to be.  Claudette Braxton's mistakes as board president were supposed to be.  Cliff Smith's selfishness and smug cantor and rhetoric are supposed to be.  Believe it or not, we were destined for our paths to cross Hicks and Gray's.  As for Mr. Blakita, in all of his ramblings at meetings, there is a message...

If you were paying attention at all this past year, you have seen and experienced some pretty horrible treatment at the hand of Dr. Jackson and some of her staff.  You have experienced a deaf ear by way of the school board's continuous passing of motions without intellectual debate and earnest consideration.  They have too often not responded to citizens and plagued them with their disrespectulful posturing. And for that, I offer that it is all for a reason.

Hopeless in Willow Run

Willow Run, MI -- Clayhillkid wrote: What on God's green earth is goin on in Willow Run? I think y'all have gone stark crazy letting this outsider come in and tear things up so bad that the district is quickly fading to black. While I have known and supported Clifford and Claudette for some time now, I believe it is time to make changes on the school district board. Claudette Braxton has enabled Dr. Hope-Jackson to be an aboslute mess in our schools! She is solely responsible for enabling this woman's disrespectfulness and has refused to see her lack of ability to treat people right and fair. Claudette has done some things OK in past years, but she has lost her way and vision.  This is a shame.  But to be fair, I went on my own mission to ask questions and find out what is really going on inside the schools.

Much to my disappointment, more negative things were shared than positive ones.  I raised my kids in Willow Run and they turned out great! I supported many programs and even some tax increases, all in the name of making Willow Run Schools a better place so that my grandkids could enjoy.  What has happened? How did we allow us to sink so low and treat people so bad? Have we become so selfish and self righteous that we have taken the public for granted? I listended to Claudette Braxton and trusted her to do right. Instead she had bad relationships with teachers and let Dr Hope-Jackson build a threatening environment for employees.

Did we just assume that we could grow our way out of this mess? We elected and trusted the school district board to safeguard our kids and schools and now we are the laughing stock of Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor. No one wants to be associated with Willow Run because of all the negative events and issues suffered at the hand of a deceptively ill-mannered Dr. Doris HopeJackson. This is really the school board fault for allowing this to carry on. I am even sadder to report that the superintendent Jackson still has not returned phone calls. Her secretary acts as though she is a drone, a hopeless drone, filtering information for the bad, bad doctor.

Is Larry gone?  He sure is missing in action alot. Has Doris allowed him time off so he can job search, on our dime, our time? This is a darn shame that this $100K administrator has robbed us with our eyes wide shut. He's still creepin' over the substitute's crib like students don't see him...what a messy mess we have in Principal Larry Greyghost.
